How your session goes
When you arrive at Reiki Vitality conveniently located on the peaceful Roosevelt Island, you feel teleported to Japan. The first thing you do is taking off your shoes before going through a Noren (a traditional Japanese curtain usually used as a room divider) to enter our studio.
Then, while the smell of the incense whose therapeutic virtues provide the necessary serenity for a relaxing session, you are invited to discuss any of your specific needs with your practitioner.
During this time, the process of your first session is explained to you. You are encouraged to ask any question and talk about any concern you may have.
The beauty of Reiki resides in its simplicity. Through subtle vibrations rather than manipulation or even gentlest force, Reiki restores balance in both mind and body. Reiki is practiced through light, non-invasive touch with practitioner’s hands placed and held in different locations of the body. The placement of hands is never intrusive or inappropriate, and the recipient is fully clothed while lying on a treatment table.
Receiving Reiki is a wonderfully passive experience. Don't try to do a thing, just let the Reiki relax you. Your state will shift quite naturally as the session proceeds. Meanwhile feel free to daydream, enjoy the music, sleep or simply observe the sensations of the therapy. Some people even fall into a deep, sleep like meditative state.
The basic philosophy of holistic care is to combine complementary treatment with traditional medicine. Nevertheless, Reiki energy is easily adapted to most medical conditions and may be used safely by people of all ages, including newborn, pregnant mothers, surgical patients, the frail and the elderly, in any situation. In more than 1000 hospitals and clinics across America, Reiki is now woven into comprehensive treatment programs such as physical therapy or palliative care.
Then, when the session ends, after about an hour, you have again some time to talk about your sensations or anything you would like to share with your practitioner. You are not to receive a diagnosis, as is not part of Reiki.

As we consider our pets as members of the family, we care about them and we become anxious when their health gets affected. Our first reaction is to visit the veterinarian who will prescribe some medicine or suggest that our cat or dog go under a surgery. But what if others options could bring some improvement to their well being with a non-invasive treatment?
When it comes to helping our pet, as Ty Bollinger says in his amazing video series: “The truth about pet cancer”, the question shouldn’t be based upon what is holistic versus what is traditional but the criteria should be: what is best for my pet?
Reiki is a powerful way to support balance and healing for all conditions. Whatever situation your dog or cat are facing, with Reiki you never have to feel powerless again!
Of course, when it comes to an animal the way you approach them is key. At Reiki Vitality, we believe that they have the right to say “yes” or “no” as well as leading the way to show us how they want to receive the treatment. For example, some animals want to remain standing on their four legs, some prefer to sit, others lay down in a very relaxed position. Whatever they choose, the effect will be the same. The energy of Reiki always flows where it is needed. Finding the cause of illness is often done through Reiki scanning, also known as medical intuitive scans.

"Enkaku" Distance Reiki
When it comes to distant healing, it is absolutely normal to be skeptical at first.

The human tendency is to demand to know before believing without conditions.
Even the most advanced Quantum physicists cannot explain yet the wonders of energy even if the often witness the effect of it.

Many studies have been conducted on distant healing and most of them shown that consciousness is “non-local” which means not confinable to the here-and-now or any specific points in space. Space and time are bound together by the laws of physics.

When a practitioner does Reiki distance, he or she is using the driving force of energy (Chi, Qi or Prana), and he or she is experiencing a type of mental state that can be described as a union with the “Universal mind”.

Distance Reiki relies on the power of intention, the belief, and skills of the healer who uses the specific “distance symbol” to channel energy for the healing benefit of others.
